ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER AT CINDERLANDS WAREHOUSE - APPLY HERE

We are searching for a talented and motivated front-of-house leader to assume the top service management role at our Warehouse restaurant in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. You will be responsible for every aspect of the restaurant’s operations: delivering exceptional guest experiences, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, leading the service team through training, culture building, and continuous improvement, stewarding an extraordinary beer and food program, and running the behind-the-scenes restaurant administration.

As the Assitant General Manager, you must care about the quality of service to your very core, have a deep passion for beer and food, understand how to lead a team to exceptional performance, and harness the potential of the Warehouse as a community platform and national leader for great experiences dining, drinking, and beyond.

Your day-to-day will include working with the General Manager, the chef and head brewer to learn about new beer and menu items, setting up the restaurant, pre-shifting your team, and setting the stage for great service by making every necessary preparation. Some admin hours will include writing the schedule, holding interviews and performance reviews, working with leaders in other departments across the company, ordering supplies, taking inventory, and creating new events and service opportunities.

Your success will be measured by the quality of the guest experience, the improvement in performance of your staff, and your ability to use the platform of the Warehouse to its fullest potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 20-40 service staff; including hiring, training, scheduling, and reviewing performance

  • Help and develop management team; set up for success

  • Daily floor management with the ultimate goal of delivering consistently great guest experiences

  • Drive continuous improvement through reflection and refinement

  • Follow all Health Department and Liquor Control Board regulations and guidelines

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and orderliness

  • Maintain safe conditions for staff, employees, and visitors

  • Order, receive and organize shipments and supplies

  • Count and record inventory thoroughly and accurately

  • Report safety, maintenance, or beer quality issues to supervisors

  • Handle cash and financial reporting securely and accurately

  • Control and maintain costs, daily sales reporting, and payroll to company standards

  • Update and maintain menus and the point-of-sale system - Toast experience preferred

Requirements:

  • Life-defining passion for food- and beverage-driven hospitality

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Minimum five years in full-service hospitality management

  • RAMP Manager & ServSafe Manager Certified

  • Able to be listed with the PLCB as the manager of record

  • Able to administer the point-of-sale system; knowledge of Toast POS helpful

  • Fully open availability, including nights and weekends; and holidays

  • Reliable means of transportation

Compensation:

  • Position type: full-time salaried exempt. Reports to ownership.

  • Salary range is based on experience.

  • UPMC Health Plan premium paid 50% by the company. Spouse and dependents premium paid 25% by the company. Options for health, dental and vision.

  • Two weeks paid time off, one week unpaid.

  • Beer, meal, and merchandise privileges at our locations.
